Amburgo: una meta per tutte le stagioni: pittoresca in estate, magica in inverno, suggestiva in autunno e romantica in primavera. Per vivibilità. traffico, riciclo e aria pura è stata inserita nell’elenco delle migliori città “verdi” d’Europa.
Una vivace metropoli orgogliosa della sua lunga storia di città portuale indipendente e cosmopolita, non a caso definita “porta d’accesso al mondo” della Germania. Turismo, cultura, architettura, arte, cibo e…luci rosse.
Ecco le mie 7 mosse (tradizionali e non) per un intenso weekend nell’ imprevedibile Amburgo.
1) Stadtrundfahrt, Bus a due piani, auricolari in tutte le lingue, in un paio d’ore conosci la città, scendi quando vuoi, visiti e prendi il prossimo. Anche in versione mini-crociera con Harbor Cruise vista acquatica della città, dell’immenso porto e delIe colossali navi merci.
2) Musei. Ne ho scelti due. Kunsthalle, 700 anni d’arte, dal Rinascimento alll’avanguardia contemporanea e MKG dove è in corso la mostra Pop and Protest dedicata all’esplosivo 1968.
3) Miniatur Wunderland Trenini, città e paesaggi in miniatura? Ero dubbioso….beh, sono rimasto a bocca spalancata: aereoporti, autostrade, ferrovie in grande fermento con mille personaggi alti un’unghia, compresa un’equipe intenta a lavare l’auto di Papa Francesco…
4) Speicherstadt. Quasi un chilometro di vecchi magazzini dai tipici mattoni rossi. Da non perdere Chocoversum, vero trionfo di cioccolato e il Museo delle Spezie, lì troverai e potrai assaggiare di tutto:, cannella, curcuma, semi di senape, vaniglia orchidea, zafferano, una marea di chiodi di garofano e 50 varietà di pepe.
5) Fame? Dicono che l’hamburger sia nato a Amburgo. Vero o no, ho trovato eccezionale quello di Burger Lounge, Jim Block Jungfernstieg, Burger, Otto’s Burger, Grindelhof e Schanze Naturalmente accompagnato da una buona birra, la bevanda nazionale.
Le migliori da Ratsherrn, Galopper des Jahres, Blockbräu e Altes Mädchen.
Una curiosità: il vero amburghese non beve Coca Cola! L’alternativa preferita è la fritz-kola, ricca di caffeina e limone. Provala!
6) Nivea Haus, negozio ufficiale della famosa crema per il viso, nata proprio a Amburgo nel 1929. Porterai a casa un souvenir davvero divertente: la ‘tua’ Nivea. Ti fotografano e in un secondo sei sulla famosa scatola blu. Anch’io non ho saputo resistere…
7) Luci rosse…notte e giorno! St. Pauli una volta era una zonaccia piena di pub chiassosi, frequentati da criminali, marinai e prostitute.
La zona è cambiata ma il proibito è sopravvissuto: sex shops, cinema porno, strip tease, burlesque. Qua e là ammiccano poster e vetrine hot. Entriamo? Dopotutto siamo ad Amburgo…
WHERE TO STAY
HafenCity It is the new futuristic district of Hamburg, area of creatives and artists,
To get there they have specially built the metropolitan U4 line. in 3 stops from the center you have already arrived. Here you can breathe fresh air, the spaces are open and many Hamburgers get away from work to go for a drink or a snack.
I stayed at the brand new 25 Hours HafenCity Hotel where I had a great time.
I felt like a sailor, the rooms look like a ship’s cabins, with prosperous painted models on the bathroom walls.
Here atmosphere is easy and relaxed , The motto says COME AS YOU ARE! There is also free access to a spectacular spa in stones and wood. In the morning a rich buffet breakfast is set up, there you can find everything, including rote gruetze, my beloved raspberry, blueberry and cherry sauce served on lean yogurt. Yummy!For lunch or dinner, the HEIMAT restaurant welcomes you with local and international food.
There is a wide variety of room types. Cabins, Each of the cosy 21-25sqm / 226-269sqft M Cabins contains a queen-size bed and has an ocean-going atmosphere without compromising on comfort. Perfect for short trip ashore. As you would expect from 25hours, they are designed with plenty of attention to detail.Anchoring made easy. The M Cabins+ are boutique retreats with an area of 21-25sqm / 226-269sqft and maritime-themed decor. Ideally suited for a short shore leave. These rooms either overlook Hamburg’s spectacular port or have full-length windows looking out onto the quiet courtyard
The laid-back Bunk Bed Cabins have an area of 20sqm / 215sqft and contain two single beds. You could be forgiven for forgetting you’re still on land. Ideal for friends to discover Hamburg or colleagues after a long office day. In addition you can find large Cabins are inspired by the harbour and the sea and offer enhanced comfort. With an area of 31-35sqm / 334-377sqft, they feature a king-size bed and additional seating. Finally the spacious XL Cabins, perfect forr those guests who are planning a special or extended stay in Hamburg and the logbook is a great source of inspiration. 
After a day spent exploring, free use of the Hafensauna is the perfect way to unwind.span approx. 40sqm / 430sqft and feature maritime design and extra comfort.
