I VINI DELLA FRANCONIA

Famosa per la grande qualità delle birre e per l’ottima cucina, la Franconia riserva anche piacevoli sorprese enologiche. Grazie al clima e alla mineralità del terreno, la Franconia vanta un territorio da cui derivano vini di altissima qualità.

Fra i vitigni a bacca rossa i più diffusi sono il Pinot nero (Spätburgunder) e il Domina, ma sono i bianchi a predominare: Riesling, Müller-Thurgau e Bacchus e Silvaner, nato in Franconia nel 1659, creato dall’incrocio tra il Traminer, uno dei vitigni più antichi del mondo, e il Bianco Austriaco. E’ un vino fresco e vivace con aromi di miele e frutta secca, racchiuso nella tradizionale bottiglia rotonda  Bocksbeutel.

Da metaà Settembre fino a metà Novembre, i vini della Franconia vengono festeggiati nelle numerose “Wein & Winzer Fest”  feste dai temi più svariati,  dalla ricerca di un amante, alle degustazioni a lume di candela, alle happy hour.
Dove assaggiare i migliori vini
Tre paesini magici: la barocca cittadina di Würzburg, Castell dove le antiche case abbracciano i vigneti, Iphofen, promotrice  di visite in cantina, degustazioni e eventi enoculturali come la Fürstliche Castell’sches Domänenamta.

Oggi vi portiamo a Norimberga.
Risalente al 1050, è stata teatro di importanti eventi storici, tra cui il famoso processo. Dopo la seconda guerra mondiale, a causa dei molti bombardamenti degli alleati, la città è stata completamente ed egregiamente restaurata anche nel suo suggestivo centro storico

Città nota per la sua allegria, i suoi colori, i suoi alberi rigogliosi, il sole, il brulicare della gente, i musei,  il castello, le sue rinomate enoteche Red Barrel e Fränkische Weinstube e le sue non meno famose rostbratwurst, leggendarie salsicce che per ottenere questo nome e marchio di autenticità, devono essere prodotte solo dai macellai di Norimnberga.

PRONTI PER UN TOUR DEL BELLO E DEL GUSTO?
Altstadt, è il cuore della città dove scoprirete Hauptmarkt, la piazza dell’antico di Norimberga. Qui vi aspettano dei veri gioielli: la Lorenzkirche (St. Lawrence Church) e Frauenkirche (“Chiesa di Nostra Signora”) meraviglioso esempio di architettura gotica, con il suo Männleinlaufen, un orologio meccanico che a mezzogiorno spalanca le porticine da cui sbucano l’Impertore e la sua corte.

Poco più in là , un vero trionfo dei selfies…davanti alla Schöner Brunnen, “la bella fontana, alta circa 19 metri. Si ispira a una guglia gotica, ornata da figure che rappresentano la filosofia, le arti liberali, gli Evangelisti, i Padri della Chiesa, i principi elettori, Mosè e i Profeti. Protetta da un recinto in ferro, chiuso da due anelli che, cosi dice la leggenda, portano fortuna se vengono toccati … Provare …

Già da inizio Ottobre la piazza si illumina di luci natalizie e si popola di bancarelle che propongono decorazioni festive, creazioni artigianali e golosità tra cui i tradizionali biscottini al burro Wicklein a forma di cuore, stella e naturalmente albero di Natale. Niente di meglio che sgranoccharsene un paio, mentre si fa shopping natalizio.

Heilig-Geist-Spital., Ospedale dello Spirito Santo, risale al 1300 ed è stata la più grande istituzione urbana per la cura dei malati e degli anziani. Ancor oggi e’ utilizzato come casa di riposo e dispone anche di un caratteristico ristorante, ricavato dall’antico refettorio.
Ship of fools, scultura in bronzo di Jürgen Weber ispirata ai versi satirici di Sebastian Brant dedicati ai vizi e alle debolezze della sua epoca.

Torre di Henkersteg (“il ponte del boia”), antica residenza del carnefice di Norimberga che doveva vivere isolato per evitare ogni contatto fisico con i cittadini, perlomeno prima… dell’esecuzione.
Kettensteg, Ponte delle Catene. Costruito nel 1824, il più antico ponte a catena d’Europa.
Vicolo dei conciatori (Weißgerbergasse) Sede medioevale del commercio delle pelli. Oggi è uno dei pochi complessi monumentali architettonici sopravvissutoi ai bombardamenti della guerra .

Albrecht-Dürer Haus Casa-museo dI Albrecht-Dürer, uno degli artisti rinascimentali più importanti del paese nel XVI secolo. Al piano terra troverete una sala contenente delle copie dei suoi dipinti mentre ai piani superiori il museo presenta installazioni di arredi d’epoca, una bella cucina e una ricostruzione dello studio dell’Artista.

Tiergärtnertor
Piazzetta da cui si gode di una bella visuale sul castello e su tutte le case a graticcio che circondano la piazza.
Kaiserburg
Gigantesco castello imperiale in arenaria,  nato nel 12esimo secolo e considerato uno dei palazzi imperiali fortificati e piu’ importanti del Sacro Romano Impero. All’interno si possono ammirare le stanze storiche, oggetti preziosi, collezioni di armi e armature dei cavalieri.

All’esterno troviamo la Sinwell Tower, torre circolare che serviva per scopi di prestigio e di difesa. Salendo in cima alla torre si ha una bella vista sulla città.

I MUSEI
Norimberga ospita una vasta gamma di gallerie e musei che esplorano il suo turbolento sviluppo, oltre a mostrare artisti locali e internazionali.

Museo del Giocattolo
Un paradiso per i bimbi e non solo… Dai giocattoli storici, alle bambole vecchio stile alle automobili, ai treni. ai motori a vapore fino alle auto moderne e ai classici giochi di oggi, come Lego, Barbie, Playmobil o Matchbox.

Germanisches Nationalmuseum
Il Museo Nazionale Germanico risale al 1852 e ospita una delle collezioni più importanti del paese di manufatti e arte tedeschi, dall’età preistorica alla modernità. Troverete opere di Albrecht Dürer, di Rembrandt, il primo globo terrestre sopravvissuto e persino il primo orologio da tasca al mondo,  oltre a antichi strumenti musicali provenienti da tutta Europa.

Fembo-Haus
“Casa dei mercanti” residenza patrizia, unica dimora mercantile tardo rinascimentale che ha resistito alle avversità del tempo. Grazie all’accurata installazione “Krone, Macht, Geschichte” (Corona, Potere, Storia) In soli 30 minuti, potrete rivivere 950 anni di storia cittadina.

Museo Ferroviario Tedesco
A Norimberga è nata la prima ferrovia tedesca. Il Museo racconta la storia dello sviluppo del sistema ferroviario. Dalle umili origini in Inghilterra alla riunificazione tedesca, documentando anche gli ampi lavori di ristrutturazione per scopi militari sotto il regime nazista e il ruolo svolto dalla ferrovia nell’Olocausto.

Neues Museum
Il più importante museo d’arte e design della città, Le sue imponenti strutture in vetro sono state sviluppate dal famoso architetto Volker Staab, Collezioni e mistre di design innovativo e pezzi d’arte degli anni ’60.

Tribunale di Norimberga
I famosi processi di Norimberga si sono svolti presso il Palazzo di Giustizia, perseguendo i restanti criminali di guerra della seconda guerra mondiale.
L’aula 600 del Palazzo, luogo in cui i nazisti furono processati, è forse la sala di giustizia più famosa del mondo ed è ancora oggi utilizzata, soprattutto per i casi di omicidi. Il tribunale di Norimberga rappresenta un promemoria della turbolenta storia del paese, ma anche una rivalutazione delle responsabilità e un’eredità problematica.

Museo della Bibbia
Recentemente aperto, illustra come è stato scritto il libro e come è arrivato in Baviera. Tra le novità un’antica copia della Bibbia che potrete sfogliare digitalmente e un’ autentica edizione del 700 che potrete sfogliare a mano, dal vivo. Interessante!
Per una visita completa ai musei e alle attrazioni di Norimberga, un’ ottima idea è quella di procurarsi una Nürnberg Card , online o direttamente al Tourist Office in Hauptmarkt. Avrete per due giorni l’ingresso gratuito a tutti i musei e le attrazioni di Norimberga ed inoltre potrete prendere tutti i mezzi di trasporto dell’intera regione di Norimberga, Fürth e Stein e il transfert all’Aereoporto.

DELIZIE GASTRONOMICHE
Imperano le Rostbratwurst, tradizionali (e sopratutto autentiche) salsicce di Norimberga.  Vengono grigliate alla fiamma e tradizionalmente servite su un piatto di peltro, accompagnate da crauti, insalata di patate e rafano.

Anche il nome è depositato , le autentiche devono essere prodotte solo dai macellai di Norimberga , Occhio alle clandestine! Le rostbratwurst, sono cosi amate, che la Città le ha volto dedicare perfino un Museo che racconta la loro storia, dalle originei alle ricette più innovative.

DOVE MANGIARE LA MIGLIORE SALSICCIA
Bratwurst Röslein il ristorante di salsicce più grande del mondo, nel cuore del centro storico di Norimberga
Bratwursthäusle, dove dal 1313 le originali salsicce vengono grigliate su barbecue a legna di faggio.
Goldenes Posthorn, la più antica enoteca della Germania e risale al 1498. Era la preferita di Dürer che di Hans Sachs ed è stata visitata da re, artisti e studiosi di tutto il mondo .
Bratwurst-Glöcklein Il suo nome risale al 14 secolo e si trova proprio accanto al Königstor, di fronte alla stazione ferroviaria principale di Norimberga.
Zum Gulden Stern, il ristorante di salsicce più antico del mondo. Un must per chi visita Norimberga

Il vero “re” della tavola è un succulento piatto fatto con spalla di maiale arrosto, completa di osso e cotenna super croccate, dumpling di patata e cavolo rosso. Si chiama “Ofenfrisches schäufele” ed è il tipico pasto domenicale della Franconia.

Il migliore della città? Ho fatto lunghe ricerche e investigazioni, ma sono tutti d’accordo: Halbrecht Durer Stube rustica birreria-osteria dove lo Chef mi ha invitato in cucina per un’anteprima… Che profumo… e vi assicuro che la carne è davvero tenera, ricca, sostanziosa e sa come appagare i sensi…

Weekend in Franconia: wine, gastronomy and art in spectacular Nuremberg

WINES OF FRANCONIA
Famous for the great quality of its beers and for its excellent cuisine, Franconia also reserves pleasant oenological surprises.Thanks to the climate and the minerality of the soil, Franconia boasts a territory from which high quality wines are derived. .

Among the red grape varieties, the most common are Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) and Domina, but the whites predominate: Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Bacchus and Silvaner, born in Franconia in 1659, created by crossing the Traminer, one of the oldest vines in the world, and the Austrian White. It is a fresh and lively wine with aromas of honey and dried fruit, enclosed in the traditional Bocksbeutel round bottle.

From mid-September to mid-November, Franconian wines are celebrated in the numerous themed “Wein & Winzer Festa”, from the search for a lover, to candlelit tastings, to happy hours.
Where to taste the best wines
Three magical villages: the baroque town of Würzburg, Castell where the old houses embrace the vineyards, Iphofen, promoter of visits to wineries, tastings and enocultural events such as the Fürstliche Castell’sches Domänenamta.

Today we take you to Nuremberg.
Dating back to 1050, it was the scene of important historical events, including the famous Trial after the Second World War. Due to the many Allied bombings, the city was completely distroyed and then very well restored and so was its historic center.

City known for its cheerfulness, its colors, its luxuriant trees, the sun, the swarming of people, the museums, the castle, its renowned Red Barrel and Fränkische Weinstube wine bars and its no less famous rostbratwurst, legendary sausages that to get this name and authenticity, they must only be produced by Nuremberg butchers.

READY FOR A TOUR FULL OF BEAUTY AND TASTE?
Altstadt, is the heart of the city where you will discover Hauptmarkt, the square of the ancient of Nuremberg. Here some real jewels await you: the Lorenzkirche (St. Lawrence Church) and Frauenkirche (“Church of Our Lady”), a wonderful example of Gothic architecture, with its Männleinlaufen, a mechanical clock that opens wide the small doors from which the Emperor and his court.

A little further on, a true triumph of selfies … in front of the Schöner Brunnen, “the beautiful fountain, about 19 meters high. It is inspired by a Gothic spire, adorned with figures representing philosophy, the liberal arts, the Evangelists, the Fathers of the Church, Moses and the Prophets. Protected by an iron fence, closed by two rings which, so the legend says, bring luck if they are touched … Try …

Since the beginning of October, the square is lit up with Christmas lights and filled with stalls offering festive decorations, handcrafted creations and delicacies… including the traditional Wicklein butter cookies in the shape of a heart, star and of course a Christmas tree. Nothing better than munching on a couple while doing Christmas shopping.

Heilig-Geist-Spital., Hospital of the Holy Spirit, dates back to 1300 and was the largest urban institution for the care of the sick and the elderly. It is still used today as a retirement home and also has a characteristic restaurant, obtained from the old refectory.

Henkersteg Tower (“the executioner’s bridge”), former residence of the Nuremberg executioner who had to live isolated to avoid any physical contact with the citizens, at least before … the execution.
Kettensteg, Chain Bridge. Built in 1824, the oldest chain bridge in Europe.
Weißgerbergasse Medieval headquarters of the leather trade Today it is one of the few monumental architectural complexes that survived the bombings of the war.

Albrecht-Dürer Haus  House-museum of Albrecht-Dürer, one of the country’s most important Renaissance artists in the 16th century. On the ground floor you will find a room containing copies of his paintings while on the upper floors the museum features installations of period furniture, a beautiful kitchen, and a reconstruction of the artist’s lab.

Tiergärtnertor
Small square from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the castle and all the half-timbered houses that surround the square.
Kaiserburg
Giant imperial sandstone castle, born in the 12th century and considered one of the most important fortified imperial palaces of the Holy Roman Empire. Inside you can admire the historic rooms, precious objects, collections of weapons and armor of the knights.

Sinwell Tower, circular tower that served for prestige and defense purposes. Climbing to the top of the tower you have a beautiful view over the city.

MUSEUMS
Nuremberg is home to a wide range of galleries and museums exploring its turbulent development, as well as showcasing local and international artists.
Toy Museum
A paradise for children and adults… From historical toys, old-fashioned dolls to cars, trains and steam engines to modern cars and today’s classic games, such as Lego, Barbie, Playmobil or Matchbox.

Germanisches Nationalmuseum
The Germanic National Museum dates back to 1852 and houses one of the country’s most important collections of German artifacts and art, from prehistoric to modern times. You will find works by Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt, the first surviving terrestrial globe and even the world’s first pocket watch, as well as musical instruments from all over Europe.

Fembo-Haus
“House of the merchants” patrician residence, the only late Renaissance merchant residence that has withstood the adversities of time Thanks to the accurate installation “Krone, Macht, Geschichte” (Crown, Power, History) In just 30 minutes, you can relive 950 years of Nuremberg history 

Museo Ferroviario Tedesco
The first German railway was born in Nuremberg. The Museum tells the story of the development of the railway system. From humble beginnings in England to German reunification, also documenting extensive refurbishment for military purposes under the Nazi regime and the role played by the railway in the Holocaust.

Neues Museum
The most important art and design museum in the city, Its impressive glass structures were developed by the famous architect Volker Staab, Collections and mixtures of innovative design and art pieces from the 1960s.

Nuremberg Court
The famous Nuremberg Trials took place at the Palace of Justice, prosecuting the remaining WWII war criminals. The hall 600 of the Palace, where the Nazis were tried, is perhaps the most famous hall of justice in the world and is still used today, especially for murder cases. The Nuremberg Tribunal represents a reminder of the country’s turbulent history, but also a reassessment of responsibilities and a troubled legacy.

Bible Museum Recently opened, it illustrates how the book was written, how it got to Bavaria. Among the novelties an ancient copy of the Bible that you can browse digitally and an authentic 18th century Bible that you can browse by hand, live. Interesting! For a comprehensive visit to Nuremberg’s museums and attractions, a great idea is to get one Nürnberg Card , online or directly at the Tourist Office in Hauptmarkt. For two days, you will have free admission to all museums and attractions in Nuremberg and you will also be able to take all means of transport in the entire region of Nuremberg, Fürth and Stein and transfer to the airport.

GASTRONOMIC DELIGHTS
Rostbratwurst, traditional (and above all authentic) sausages from Nuremberg, reigns supreme. They are grilled over the flame and traditionally served on a pewter plate, accompanied by sauerkraut, potato salad and horseradish.

Even the name is registered, the authentic ones must be produced only by the butchers of Nuremberg, The rostbratwurst are truly loved, there is a Museum that tells their story, from the origins to the most innovative recipes.

WHERE TO EAT THE BEST SAUSAGE

Bratwursthäusle, where the original sausages have been grilled on beech wood barbecues since 1313.
Goldenes Posthorn, Germany’s oldest wine shop, dates back to 1498. It was Dürer’s and Hans Sachs’ favorite and has been visited by kings, artists and scholars from all over the world.

The real “king” of the table is a succulent dish made with roast pork shoulder, complete with super crunchy bone and rind, potato dumpling and red cabbage. It is called “Ofenfrisches schäufele” and is the typical Franconian Sunday meal.

The best in town? I have done extensive research and investigations, but they all agree: Halbrecht Durer Stube rustic brewery-tavern where the Chef invited me to the kitchen for a preview … What a scent … and I assure you that the meat is really tender, rich, substantial and knows how to satisfy the senses…
